Ivory Street Support Continues:
While things were relatively quiet at Ivory Street today, we were able to distribute a significant amount of groceries and bread to grateful recipients.
Unexpected Request for Assistance:
Unfortunately, our recent streak of no tents at Musgrave Park was broken. Late last night, Casey connected me with a couple who had just arrived in Brisbane from the north. Having spent the night in the Botanic Gardens with no bed or tent, they were in desperate need of help.
Taking Action:
Responding to their situation, I drove them to Musgrave Park, set up a tent, provided mattresses and sleeping bags, and helped them stock up on food. This should ensure a more comfortable situation for now. On Monday, they can begin the process of hopefully securing housing.
A Secondhand Gem Makes a Difference:
They were overjoyed with the tent – a fantastic second-hand donation we received! It's a spacious 4-person dome with a covered entry area, making it a truly valuable resource. A huge thank you to the kind soul who donated this essential item!
